By 1998 Pentan Partnership had out-grown its first offices and embarked upon the creation of its own purpose-designed, open-plan studio, at the town end of Atlantic Wharf, in Cardiff. The existing concrete-framed structure was given a vaulted ceiling, to aid stack-effect natural ventilation, with cool air drawn in from the northern, 'servant' side of the studio and released via high-level openings in the fully-glazed, southern edge of the 'served' space.
The resultant naturally-lit studio proved to be a very popular and an extremely flexible working environment, over a period of nine years; by which time Pentan Partnership had grown to over thirty staff and it was therefore time to move on again. We were very sorry to have to leave it !
