Leadon Bank is our most challenging design to date: a multi-use brief for 52 extra-care flats, a large restaurant and day care centre and a 10-beds intermediate care unit, on a site on which an existing residential home had to be kept fully operational. Our design wraps the accommodation around a v-shaped, two-levels courtyard garden, with expansive views across this courtyard to the west; and is five-storeys high, in parts. A difficult Planning Application was steered through the determination process, in the face of vociferous objections from some neighbours, with detailed, verifiable massing studies and rigorous environmental analyses.
If you want to experience this development for yourself, its café and restaurant are open to the public.
