Our People

Jim co-founded Pentan Partnership in 1995, after previously working in the voluntary and public sectors with South Wales-based SHAW Housing Association and Newport Borough Council respectively. Jim’s considerable experience of architectural practice spans over forty years and, during that time, the projects that he has been involved with include office developments, leisure complexes, healthcare facilities, public buildings and all forms of residential developments - both private housing and social housing.

Following his pioneering involvement in the design and project management of the first Housing for Wales/SHAW five-sites ‘Bulk Procurement Initiative', in the early nineties, Jim has applied his experience to getting the very best out of design-and-build procurement for Pentan Partnership's clients.

With Pentan Partnership acting as lead consultant on their design-and-build projects, Jim’s clients now includes some of the UK’s most prominent contractors and house-builders, amongst whom are Carillion, Bryant, Cowlin (Balfour Beatty), Marriott (Kier Group), Leadbitter, Lovell, Kendrick and Warings; as well as numerous regional and local Contractors.

Jim and his team offer extensive experience and technical expertise in both traditional and timber frame construction techniques.
