This project is for a South Wales-based charity, DRIVE. Our brief was to fulfil the charity’s ambition to provide a horticultural training centre in the form of a ‘garden’ building that both felt special for its users and also met our client’s stringent sustainability and mobility agendas. The resultant Finnish kit-of-parts, log cabin design, complete with sheep's wool insulation and bio-mass boiler and with access for wheelchairs throughout, achieves all of these objectives. The completed building was Highly Commended in Rhondda-Cynon-Taf Council's recent Building Control Awards - Sustainability category.
