Pentan Partnership was voted winner in this 2005 Royal Society of Architects in Wales’ invited-competition to produce a vision for the city of Cardiff in 2055. Our images show an energy-self-sufficient and food-self-sufficient capital city, based on high-density living within the city ‘walls’, with the land currently occupied by the non-sustainable suburbs given over to food production and energy generation ! Some might say “exaggerating to make a point”; others might say “the pragmatics necessary for a sustainable, civilised city”. We will leave you to make your own mind up!
